ADS54J60: What exactly may be improved by IMPROVE IL PERF bit

Hello,

Datasheet states that IMPROVE IL PERF bit may improve interleaving performance when input frequencies fall within within ± fS / 64 band centered at n × fS / 8 (n = 1, 2, 3, or 4).
But, what does “improve interleaving performance” mean?
Could you elaborate?

Hirano-san,

This will reduce the spurs caused by the interleaving of the 4 ADC's (gain/timing mismatch). The function of the interleave engine is to reduce the images at Fin + Fs/4, Fs/4 - Fin, and Fs/2 - Fin.
