ADS1278: Power down pin

Part Number: ADS1278

Hi Experts,

May I ask for help? In our customer design the ADC must be always on, so  the PWDN (active low) pin must be pulled up.
My question is: is it possible to link the PWDN pin directly to Vcc or he need to put a pull up resistor?
If he need to put a pull up resistor what should its value be?
I hope you can help us. Thank you.

Kind regards,
Gerald

  • Hello Gerald,

The PWDN pins can be tied directly to Vcc (IOVDD).

An option is to use a 10kohm pull-up if you want the ability to temporarily shut down each channel by pulling the pin to ground, but otherwise, you do not need the additional resistors and can simply connect the PWDN pins directly to the IOVDD supply voltage.
