I am using USB-Modevm board for AMC6821 evaluation board to connect to the host computer. The Win 7 complains about not able to install the driver. I searched around on TI and the software directory to find the driver. I did not have much luck. Please help me to point out where is the USB driver for USB-MODEVM board? Would it support WIN 7? I did not have problem install the software though. Thanks.

Liz,

Currently our PC side evaluation software does not support Windows 7 primarily for driver reasons. The evaluation software may appear to have installed correctly, but without the driver support for Windows 7 it's not actually going to work. Do you have access to a Windows XP SP2 or greater machine? Efforts are underway to support Windows 7, but I am unable to give you a timeframe for when it will be completed.

Hi Kevin,

Please send me the WIN XP driver then, since after I installed the software on a win XP system, the driver still can not be installed properly. Is there also a SM Bus controller also required? Thanks.

Liz,

The AMC6821EVM uses the NI-VISA drivers that should be bundled in the installer. During the install process it should provide you with information about if the driver failed to install and why it failed to install. It should be using NI-VISA 4.0. Do you have any other versions of NI-VISA installed that could be causing conflicts?

Ali,

There are no Windows 7 drivers for the USB-MODEVM. Currently alternatives to the USB-MODEVM are being searched for. Some critical components of that board's BOM are going obsolete.

To further upon Kevin's comments, we have no plans to support Precision Data-Converter EVMs (ADS and DAC) on the USB-MODEVM for Win7.
