ADS1113: Gain drift spec confirmation

Part Number: ADS1113

Hi,

i want to confirm whether the gain drift spec at FSR 2.948V have any typo on max value.

if we use typical value 5ppm to do calculate, we can match the gain error max value.

but if we used 40ppm, it will not match the gain error max value.

hope for your comments and confirmation.

  • Hi Shuang,

I don't think there is a typo here. The max spec is just saying that over the temperature range, the gain error drift will not exceed 40ppm/C. You may use Figure 6 in the data sheet for a more accurate representation of the gain error drift over temperature.

  • thanks Aaron,

let me double confirm below point.

we need to evaluate the worst case. about gain error, if the gain error is 0.15%, then how can i evaluate the worst case of gain error?

do i need to use 40ppm drift to calculate the maximum gain error? 0.15%+40ppm*temp difference?

  • Hi Shuang,

You are correct. Temperature impacts gain error and how it does is shown as the gain error drift spec. So for maximum error, you will need to use the maximum gain error value of 0.15% as well as the maximum gain error drift which is 40ppm/C.
