ADS8598S: Is the digital output state machine reset after a conversion finishes?

On a ADS8598S operating in serial mode, is the first read after BUSY goes low guaranteed to be Channel 1 on DOUTA and Channel 5 on DOUTB? I suspect this must be the case, because for Figure 70 (Data Readback with DOUTA and DOUTB), the datasheet says, "In this case, the conversion results from the first set of channels (channels 1-4) appear on DOUTA and the conversion results from the second set of channels (channels 5-8) appear first on DOUTB."

Hi John,

Both the timing and the description are correct, I do not see any issue in the description. The sequence of output data on the DOUTA in serial mode is channel 1, Channel 2, channel 3 and Channel 4. The sequence of output data on the DOUTB in serial mode is channel 5, Channel 6, channel 7 and Channel 8.

Thanks. Can you confirm that Channel 1 is always first on DOUTA after BUSY goes low?

The datasheet does not explicitly say that Channel 1 is always the next output on DOUTA after busy goes low. However, having spent some time digging through the forums, you do seem to say so here.

Hi John,

I did not see any issue including my answer in the post you highlighted. The data for channel 1 will be shown on the DOUTA after the BUSY goes low, this is definitely correct, also is stated in the datasheet. Have you seen any issue?
