ADS1255: Ultra low noise ADC for Bridge sensor Input

Part Number: ADS1255
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1261, ADS1260, ADS1235

Hi,

Customers have been using the ADS1255 / 6 for their bridge sensors for many years. Is there an ultra-low noise ADC to replace this ADC?
We are selecting an ADC for new development.

Their priority is noise-free bits.

Selection criteria
24bit delta-sigma with PGA differential input 1ch ~ ,50/60Hz noise reject filter

Best Regards,

Hiroshi

  • Hi Hiroshi-san,

Do you have a specific noise target you want to achieve?

The ADS1260 and ADS1261 are basically the next generation versions of the ADS1255, these are the lowest noise ADCs we have available for bridge sensors.

You could also use the ADS1235, which is basically a subset of the ADS1261 that remove some of the features (VREF, IDACs, etc.) but still has the same noise performance. The ADS1235 is more specific to bridge measurements.

Please let me know if the customer has more details on the system they want to design and we can recommend the most suitable device.

  • Hi Bryan-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
Since there are no clear requirements from customers, I would like to introduce the ADS1260/1 and ADS1235 as the next generation models of the ADS1255.

Noise-free bits are also good, so I think customers will consider it.

    Best regards,
    Hiroshi

  • Thank you Hiroshi-san, if the customer shares any more information please let us know.
