ADS1015: maximum sampling rate

Guru 11170 points
Part Number: ADS1015

Hello E2E,

Please let me know about the ADS1015.
When it switching input on 2-ch, how much the maximum sampling rate?
(If this device has quantitative numbers about this condition)

Best regards,
ACGUY

  • Hi ACGUY,

The ADS1015 samples the input signal at 250kHz.

  • I thought maximum sampling rate is 3.3kHz of this device.

  • Hi ACGUY,

The sample rate is how fast the input signal is sampled. This is 250kHz for this device. The data rate is the rate of the digital output. The max data rate is 3300sps. When switching between 2 channels, both the sample rate and data rate should stay constant.

If you are using continuous conversion mode, if the configuration register is set to change the mux channel during a conversion, the mux channel will not change in the middle of the conversion. The device will complete the conversion of the old mux setting and it will update the conversion results of this previous channel. After this, it will change the mux channel, start a new conversion on the new channel and then update the new channel conversion results after the conversion is complete.
