ADS1298: ADS1298 vs ADS1299

Part Number: ADS1298
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1299

Hello,

I am building an AFE for EEG recordings. I have noticed that the power budget of ADS1298 ADCs is expensive. I would like to switch to ADS1298 ADCs that are however more noisy.

Could you provide documentation on HW/SW implementation difference between both ADC modules, regarding EEG signals recording?

Best regards,

Ivan

  • Hello Ivan,

I wanted to let you know that our expert on this device is out of the office for Christmas and New Year holidays, he will be back in the office on 1/3/22.

    Thank you for your patience.

  • Hi Ivan,

Welcome to the E2E forum !!!

As you have noticed, the ADS1299 is more suitable for EEG application whereas the ADS1298 is used mostly for ECG application. Both devices share many similarities but also have some differences to ease the use for their intended application. Unfortunately, we do not have any documentation explicitly showing how to interchange the device for different applications. However, you can easily find all the related information in the datasheet.

    Thanks
