ADS127L01: CCLD

Part Number: ADS127L01
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01471

Dear Technical Support Team,

CCLD and IEPE are called differently, but are they the same?
Can the circuit of TIDA-01471 be used for CCLD as it is?
Please let me know if you have any concern.

  • Hi there ttd,

The author of the document you referenced is still on holiday, returning next week.  In the meantime, CCLD an IEPE are similar and circuits can be used interchangeably, given that excitation current level and compliance range are observed for the given sensor.

  • Hi Tom,

    Thank you for your support.

I'm looking forward to replying author's comment.

  • Hello TTD,
IEPE : (integrated electronics piezoelectric) accelerometer uses constant current line driver as power source. so standard IEPE-interface is implemented as CCLD.
CCLD is used for different transducers like microphones, accelerometers, and laser tacho prbes. different transducers might have different requirements from the CCLD stage. these requirements include:
    - current range (Imin, Imax)
    - current noise
    - current source compliance range (Vmin, Vmax)
    - input impedance
    - input bandwidth
so, as mentioned in the comment from Tom, the IEPE circuit in TIDA-01471 can be used as CCLD, you just need to make sure the requirements for the target application are within the limits of the TIDA-01471.
    Kind Regards
    Ahmed
