TSW14J57EVM: Data capture without GUI

Part Number: TSW14J57EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12QJ1600EVM

Good Morning,

I am planning on getting the TSW14J57EVM acquisition board along with the ADC12QJ1600EVM ADC evaluation board. The mentioned ADC board provides 4 channels which I intend to use for acquire data at the same time.  Based on my understanding the "High Speed Data Converter Pro GUI" loads the correct firmware for the ADC board to the FPGA and then starts the acquisition from memory to PC over USB. However I want to process the data in a another program. Is it possible? And if it is, what is the best way to do it? Is there any documentation for communication with the acquisition board over serial?

Best Regards,

Andres

  • Andres,

After downloading the HSDC Pro GUI, there are some example files and manuals describing how you can use the board and GUI to perform automation data processing. This information can be found in the directory shown below. TI does not provide any serial communication with this board, only USB3.0.

If you have FPGA firmware and software knowledge, you could possibly create your own serial interface using the 10 spare FPGA signals that are connected to test points and SMA's on this board.

    Regards,

    Jim
