DAC81404: Internal Power Regulator

Part Number: DAC81404

Does DAC81404 have a internal LDO or similar power stage to regulation of input voltage? Can I connect both supply inputs of the DAC with the same LDO if it doesn't contain a regulator? or should I use seperated LDO for each supply input to protect the analog supply from noisy digital supply of DAC.

Hi Ismail,

I am not sure I understand your question - what inputs are you referring to? DVDD and AVDD? If there is no regulator on the supply - what is generating the voltage? Do you mean you are using a buck/boost switching supply but not applying an LDO after that?

I'm referring to DVDD and IOVDD. Yes I'm using buck converter and there is no LDO post regulation. If there is a internal power regulation in the DAC IC, I will not use the external LDO.

There is not an internal LDO. A higher noise supply is not a major problem with the IOVDD and DVDD pin, but at minimum I would recommend a good bypass capacitor scheme to attenuate the ripple noise.

It is critical that AVDD and VSS be low noise as that can cause noise on the analog output.

I will use a good capacitor scheme and ferrite bead for IOVDD and DVDD. I'm using low noise LDOs for AVDD and AVSS already. Thank you for suggestion.
