ADS127L01EVM: How to start the Evaluation Module on WIN 11

Part Number: ADS127L01EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS127L01

Hi, I am trying to start the ADS127L01EVM and only partial success for now.

I downloaded and installed the Delta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTIon Software, then the ADS127L01 device package. I can see the Delta -Sigma window, but no component to select.

Hence my questions:

1. Does this software works on Windows 11?

2. What are the next logical steps I should take?

Thanks,

Tom B.

  • Hello Tom,

Welcome to the TI E2E Community!

We have never tested the software on WIN11.  The software has only been tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10.

The ADC Evaluation Software should be installed first, followed by the device package.  When first connecting the USB cable, the hardware drivers should automatically install.  Then, starting the ADC Evaluation Software should automatically detect the EVM board and load the correct Device package, ADS127L01 in your case.

I suspect that the drivers did not correctly install.  You can check Device Manager for the Generic Bulk Device driver.

If it is not correctly installed, you can try manually installing the hardware drivers by following the instructions in Section 2.3.2 of the ADC Evaluation Software guide.

It is also possible the USB port on your PC is not able to supply enough current for proper operation of the EVM.  Another option would be to either plug into a different USB port, or plug into a powered USB Hub.

  • Hi Keith,

Thank you, I managed to start my EVM module on Windows 11 (with some help from the Windows people, since I am a Mac person) and so far so good. It is not a thorough testing though, but encouragement rather than this can be done and unit seems functional.

One confusing part is that the core program help tools (providing manual and schematic) still still direct the first release documents, which might be slightly misleading at first.

    Cheers,

    Tom B.
