ADS7057EVM-PDK: PHI Board Manual

Hi Daniel,

Please see my response to your questions below:

• Can you share a detailed manual for PHI, please.
  • Unfortunately, we do not have one. The PHI is not intended for customized applications but more to serve as a controller for our EVMs. The User's Guide for the EVM will be the closest thing we have but even that is more focused on the EVM. 
• I need to start an external device with ADC starting. Can I get a synchro pulse from PHI?
  • Can you elaborate a bit more on what you mean by starting an external device? Would you like the PHI to provide a pulse synchronized with CS?
• Does PHI software produce averaging?
  • No but you should be able to export data from the GUI and average it in Excel. 
• Or can PHI be triggered by external device?
  • No. 

As I mentioned in the first question, the PHI is not intended to be used is customized applications. For that reason, there is no manual/guide for working with the PHI independent of the EVM.

Hi Andrew,

Would a pulse on a GPIO do the trick? If so, we might be able to make something happen. The GUI software controls the PHI and specific functions of the PHI that relate to the EVM since the PHI's main purpose is a controller board for our EVMs. However, if all you would need is a pulse, I think we might be able to generate one.
