ADS4249EVM: clock signal going in, but no clock signal going out

I have powered up the board with +5V across J10 and J12.

I am sending a clock signal (0.5V rms sine wave) into J19

by my calculations that gives a 1.5 V sine wave to pins 26 and 27 of the ADC as described in Table 7.3 of the datasheet.

I should expect to see a clock signal coming out of the ADC at pins 56 and 57, right?

well I don't get any signal there. I am measuring with a probe at pins 5 and 6 of RN8

Is there some setting I need to change using the GUI?

Is my board defective?

    Is your board setup for parallel or serial programming? Are you loading any registers if using serial mode? In either case, issue a hard reset after power and the input clock is present. Make sure the input clock is within spec of the data sheet. Measure the clock input at the ADC using a diff probe to make sure this is what you expect. Try increasing the amplitude to see if this is the issue.

  • The board is set up for serial. I am not currently loading any registers, but I could. 

    It looks like the input clock wants to be 1.5Vpp. I have adjusted my input signal to 1.06Vpp and 1MHz sine wave to get 1.5Vpp sine wave at input.

    powered on and reset using the button and the GUI (V2.1) and still no clock output signal.

    Does this sound correct? Should I send any registers? 
    Am I resetting correctly?

    I am sending in a 250MHz clock on the EVM at -32dBm and getting an output clock without programming any registers. The board is drawing 331mA. Please verify your shunts are installed as the attached photo. If everything matches and you still do not get an output clock, I would believe you have a bad board.
