    Hi Zhonghui,

    Can you let us know what the customer is seeing from the ADS1261EVM GUI, specifically what does it mean that they receive no response from the data collection:

    • Does the GUI work fine otherwise?
    • Does the data collection window open up successfully?
    • What happens when they press "collect data"? Nothing? Or do they get an error message?
    • Have they tried changing the number of samples from the default value of 2048?

    In the meantime we will review the error log and let you know if there is any action to take.

    Hi Zhonghui,

    The Delta-Sigma ADC GUI uses a TCP/IP socket to communicate between the main program and the data analysis engine. This socket or port# is 11000. It could be that this port number is in use by some other application or perhaps an anti-virus program is blocking this port.

    You can check the log in the data analysis engine to see if you are connected to the appropriate port. See the image below.

    You can also run the Delta-Sigma EVAL GUI Console, open the command prompt on your computer, and enter the string: "telnet <your IP address> 11000" to see if this port is in use.

    If the server is not running, you will get a "connect failed" error. If the server is running you will get a blinking cursor.

    The only fix for this issue is to identify why this port (11000) is being blocked and/or close the application that is using that port.

    But there is another problem. Which channel does the collected data belong to? I connect the positive and negative ends of the external input signal to AIN0 and AIN1 respectively, and no signal is collected (the same as the noise collected when suspended); When the input signal is connected to AIN0 and AINCOM, no signal is collected, so please give more guidance on how to connect the collected signal of this software, thank you!

    Hi Zhonghui,

    Just so I understand correctly: you were able to get the data collection feature in the ADS1261EVM GUI working properly, but now you are having trouble getting the ADC to sample the correct channels?

    Can you read back the registers from the GUI and report back what is being read? And can you send me a picture of your EVM setup? I would like to see how some of the physical connections are made.

    If the correct channel has been selected, and you have the input connections setup correctly, the GUI should provide the measured data in the data collection window.

    Hi Zhonghui,

    In the GUI image on the left, you are showing that INPMUX = 0xFF. This sets both the positive and negative (MUXP and MUXN) inputs to an internal VCOM connection, where VCOM = (AVDD - AVSS) / 2. The differential ADC input voltage, VIN, that the ADC measures is equal to MUXP - MUXN. With MUXP = MUXN, the ADC is measuring 0V, which is the result shown in the Data Collection window on the right.

    The customer needs to change the INPMUX register to the desired channels they want to measure. Please refer to section 9.6 in the ADS1261 datasheet for the full register map including the description of each register / bit.
