ADS1178EVM-PDK: Documentation

Part Number: ADS1178EVM-PDK

Hi,

Good Day. Customer recently ordered an ADS1178EVM board and it seems as though the board schematic and user manual do not match the physical board. He was wondering if there is a more recent revision (or possibly older) of the documentation that may match the board more precisely. Please advise. Thank you very much.

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent

  • Hello Ray,

The User's Guide on ti.com has not changed in some time, and should reflect the most recent hardware.  Can you provide a picture of the board so I can identify the exact version that the customer received?

    Thanks,
    Keith Nicholas

  • Hi Keith,

Good Day. Please see attached images of the MMB0 board and the ADS1178EVM for your reference. Thank you very much.

    Best Regards,

    Ray Vincent

  • Hi Vincent,

This is a very old version of the board.  Attached is the older version of the User's Guide.  The latest software should still work and can be used with Windows 10 and 7.

If the kit came with an external AC power supply, then that is the easiest way to use the kit.  If not, then an external lab supply will be needed that meets the following requirements:

An AC adapter (or lab supply) can be connected to barrel jack J2 on the MMB0. J2 is located next to the USB connector. The adapter must output 6V-7V dc. The connector must be sleeve-negative, tip-positive. It should have a current rating of at least 2A.

    Regards,
    Keith
