Hi,

I want to measure ECG signals using ADS1293EVM. When I read the user guide, it specified 4-Lead DB9 Connector for electrode. It also specified a simulator.

Is the simulator needed for operating ADS1293EVM to measure ECG signals?

Can't I place the electrodes from DB9 Connector on the body directly to see ECG signals?

Please help me with this. I have a project due.

    Hello Vedashree, 

    An ECG simulator provides a reliable signal for you to test your configuration of the ADS1293 with. It is possible to place the electrodes on a human body and use the ADS1293EVM to test for ECG, but since there are environmental factors that can create noise and affect performance, we recommend you use an ECG simulator before attempting to detect signals from a live body.
