TSW14J56EVM: accessing the data from the board's memory (SDRAM,DDR) via MATLAB, while keep sampling at triggered events

Part Number: TSW14J56EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC34J45EVM

Hi,

I have an application that needs to use TSW14J56EVM as a data acquisition board with ADC34J45EVM. my application is to take samples from one or two channels at a high sampling rate ( 80 - 160) MSPS. The sampling process will be triggered each chirp. the data should be stored as packages in the memory of TSW14J56EVM according to the interval of the trigger's signal, so it can be accessed when requested by Matlab via Automated scripts.

The important thing here is that the sampling process has to continue without being interrupted by the automated capturing process from Matlab or another software rather than HSDCPro.

I have the following question in addition:

1- Do I need to customize the firmware of TSW14J56EVM to get what I want?

2- Can you suggest any board that does what I want?

3- Can you advise me with another Third-party company that can provide me with a solution?

4- Can I connect TSW14J56EVM with another processor, so they will provide me with a solution?

regards,

Eng. Bassam Alghram

  • Bassam,

    1. Yes. TI cannot provide this.

    2. Any Intel or Xilinx platform with an FMC connector probably could work.

    3. No.

    4. Maybe. The processor board would have to communicate to the TSW14J56 using the USB3.0 interface.

Sorry I could not help more with this request.

    Regards,

    Jim
