ADS7047: Serial transfer frame notation

Expert 4165 points

Dear support,

On figure 1 of our datasheet, the SDO diagram notation mentions a "Data Output for Sample A-1"

Shouldn't it be "Sample A", instead?

Same comment for the other parts ADS7046/52/4/6

While the ADS7040/1/2/4 seem to be correct and mention "Sample N" and not "Sample N-1"

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

I believe the notation in these diagrams is correct. We do have devices which use this data transfer pattern (see ADS9224R Zone 2 transfer mode for example). In this case, the device is doing three actions in each frame:

    1. Frame N:
      1. Output sample N-1 on SDO
      2. Convert sample N (acquired in previous frame)
      3. Acquire sample N+1 (acquisition of next sample)
    2. Frame N+1:
      1. Output sample N on SDO
      2. Convert sample N+1 (acquired in previous frame)
      3. Acquire sample N+2 (acquisition of next sample)

    Best regards,

    Ryan
