ADS1248: ADS1248

Part Number: ADS1248
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS114S06, ADS114S08, ADS124S08, ADS124S06, ADS1261, ADS1260, ADS122U04, ADS1120, ADS1220, ADS122C04

Hi,

I am looking for 24-Bit Analog-to-Digital Converters for Temperature Sensors similar to the ADS1248. Can you recommend alternative parts?

  • Hi Roman,

A few good alternatives to the ADS1248 are:

    • ADS124S08 - 24-bit, 4 kSPS, 12-ch delta-sigma ADC with PGA, VREF, IDACs. This is actually the next-generation version of the ADS1248, offering lower power, more features, smaller size, better DC performance, lower noise, and higher speeds. We also have a 6-ch (ADS124S06) and 16-bit options (ADS114S06 and ADS114S08) available
    • ADS1261 - 24-bit, 40 kSPS, 10-ch delta-sigma ADC with PGA, VREF, IDACs. This device has lower noise compared to ADS124S08, but is a bit higher power. There is also a 5-ch version (ADS1260)
    • ADS1220 - 24-bit, 2 kSPS, 4-ch delta-sigma ADC with PGA, VREF, IDACs. This device is the lowest cost and smallest size of the three options presented here, but the DC performance is not as good as the ADS124S08 or ADS1261. There are 16-bit (ADS1120) and different interface (ADS122C04 = I2C and ADS122U04 = UART) options available

Let me know if you need further information about any of these choices

  • Also, links to the product folders for all of these devices can be found just below your name at the top of the thread, as shown. I point this out as sometimes it is not immediately obvious

  • Hi Roman,

I received an email notification about a response from you, but I don't see it in this thread for some reason. I will repost it here:

    Thank you, Bryan.

Are they similar to the ADS1248 as they also have programmable IEXCs?

All the devices I mentioned in my previous response include dual, matched IDACs. The IDAC performance on the ADS124S08 for example is better than the ADS1248 in terms of matching and drift.

  • Thank you, Bryan.
