ADS131A04: A strange output appears in aging test

Part Number: ADS131A04

Hi Team,

When power on again after aging test and power off, ADS131A04 output 0x400000,0,0,0 constantly; Then power off and power on again, output return to normal. Customer try to reproduce this abnormal output, but they failed. And after test, the abnormal output is not related to fail initialization.

Do you have any idea about what condition will cause this kind of abnormal output? Or any suggestion about reproducing?

Thanks!

Rayna

  • Hello Ruixin,

    Thank you for your post.

After power cycling the device, the customer should be polling for the READY response by sending consecutive SPI frames containing the NULL command. If they do not see the READY response (0xFF04), they should apply a reset pulse while the supplies remain stable. Is the RESETn pin coming up with the supply? It may be that the device gets stuck depending on the duration of the power cycle event.

    Regards,

    Ryan
