ADS1243 Powerdown (/PDWN) clarification

Does the /PWDN pin function affect the device set up ?

Example:  Configure the device as I  would like to use it.  Assert the /PWDN pin low for a period of time.  De-assert /PWDN and start using device again.

Under some conditions, it seem that the device is "reset" when I recover from /PWDN.  Any Thoughts ?

Thanks

  • D. Johnson,

The PWDN pin is a power down the device pin.  Depending on the duration of cap voltage hold time, the device may retain some settings, but I wouldn't count on it.  You may want to consider the SPI commands SLEEP and WAKEUP, which will retain the settings.
