ABACO-3P-FMC204FPGA: -

Part Number: ABACO-3P-FMC204FPGA

Hi,

This question is generic to all the FPGA's and it is not specific to this.

Why do FPGAs need power sequencing? Why do most ICs do not have power sequencing?

Thankyou in advance!

  • Hi Jeevan,

in general, power sequencing is required as there are multiple voltages within the FPGA/data converters to power both the analog components and digital components. The power up sequence typically goes from lower voltage to higher voltage to prevent latch up between the interface of lower voltage circuits to higher voltage circuits (i.e. flip flops to analog circuits) For FPGA related questions, please contact your FPGA vendor for detail.
