AFE5832EVM: Firmware Error

Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working with AFE5832EVM & TSW1400. Please see below his query for your reference. Thank you very much.

So I have the AFE5832EVM connected to the TSW1400 and both are connected to their proper power supplies. However, every time I want to download the firmware I get the error JTAG_CHAIN_BROKEN_ERROR. I have tried all the troubleshooting solutions I could read in the E2E Forum but it is still not working. I also have 2 boards from each and tried all combinations, however, it is still not working (and I don't believe the boards are defective. They are brand new)

    Hi Vincent,

    In most cases, it is due to faulty board. Since the customer thinks that they are good and its unlikely that both TSW boards are bad. Can you just check the following:

    1. Power Supply

    • Connect separate 5V supplies to the EVM and the TSW Card. Keep the current limit of both the supply to 2A. - (most common issue). 
    • Once connected (the TSW should take around 300 mA of current) - verify
    • The EVM should consume 500-700 mA

    2. Change the USB Cable 

    3. Try in another computer

    Let me know if any of the above works.

    Mostly they would have tested the above but just once can you ensure that the above test fails.

    We'll see next what to do.
