ADS1248：WAIT time after WAKEUP for ADS1248

Dear technical support staffs.

I have a question regarding a F/W program to detect the sensor output voltage using the ADS1248 by repeatedly using the NORMAL mode and then the Power Down mode.

The program will be software-controlled intermittent operation based on the contents of Figure 78 "SLEEP and WAKEUP commands" in the ADS1248 datasheet. For example, "Data conversion command → SLEEP command → WAIT → WAKEUP command → Data conversion command → Power-donw Mode → Power Down Mode".

The timing of the next command input after WAKEUP is unknown. The datasheet only described "After the WAKEUP command, the device is activated at the falling edge of 8 SCLKs from the WAKEUP command.

Questions.
1. when the Wakeup command + 8 SCLK is input to the ADS1248, has the IC already completed the NORMAL mode transition and is it ready to accept commands?

Is a WAIT time necessary between the next command or is it OK to start a data conversion command without setting a WAIT time after the WAKEUP command?

    Hi Kurui-san,

    Can you please help me understand what you are trying to do after the WAKEUP command? You mentioned that you want to issue the "data conversion command", but there is no such command in the ADS1248. If the START pin is high, the ADC should begin converting as soon as the WAKEUP command executes.

    Let me know if this is the intended behavior you expect
