ADS8686S: oversample

Part Number: ADS8686S

Hi  team,

For ADS8686, could you please help give your comments about below questions?

Thank you!

1. Could the DB13, DB14 and DB15 be acted as the logic input pin for the oversampling rate setting in hardware parallel interface mode?

2. In hardware parallel interface mode, can the DB13, DB14,DB15 be floated?

Thanks!

Regards,

Ivy

  • Hi Ivy,

    Please see the answers:

    1. No. These pins are data pins (DB13/14/15) in parallel mode. These pins can only act as input for OSR in hardware serial mode.

    2. In hardware parallel mode, you need these pins to read the conversion data from the ADC. If you do not use these pins, you will only get data on DB0-DB12 which is 13-bit conversion result, so you definitely need these three pins for retrieving conversion data in hardware parallel mode
