ADS1256: ADS1256IDBT

Part Number: ADS1256

Suppose I have programmed  ADS1256 for 4 differential channels each connected to different type of sensor.

Here it requires to write MUX register (with appropriate inputs pins) to read data from respective channel.

When a channel is calibrated, offset and gain registers will be updated with offset and gain correction values; and same will be noted.

Are these offset and gain correction values common for all channels?

When it is MUXed to read data from respective channels, is it necessary to write the offset and gain registers with values noted during calibration or will it remember the values?

  • Hello Somayya,

My apologies, but the applications engineer that normally supports this device has been out of office this week.

There are only one set of offset and gain registers; they are common for all channels.  Yes, when MUXed, it will be necessary to write to the offset and gain registers with the noted values during calibration for that channel.
