ADC3444: Does the adc3444 chip have to reset every time it is powered on?

Part Number: ADC3444
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC3441

1. Does adc3444 chip have to reset every time it is powered on and we  have to reconfigure the last configured register value?

2.  I don't know if I configure it in the following order, right? After Power-up or Reset we first configure the register as  as described in Table 8,
then we configure the register  according to we need.

3.  All above registers have been configured then we can use the conversion values.

  • Hi Li,

It is recommended to write these registers each startup so the ADC is in the exact same common state (reset state) before making any additional changes to the configuration. Your comment #2 indicates that the configuration sequence is being followed correctly. Regarding comment #3, you are correct.

  • First of all, thank you very much for your answer. There is another question you haven't replied clearly? That is does the adc3444 chip have to reset every time it is powered on?  Or do I just need to follow the process described above after power on? Which of the following sequence is the correct operation?

a)power on->hardware or software reset ->configure the register as  as described in Table 8-> use the conversion values.

b)power on->configure the register as  as described in Table 8-> use the conversion values.

  • Hello Li,

My apologies, after power-up a hardware reset should take place. This is described in section 9.5.2 ADC3441 Power-Up Requirements. After this initial hardware reset, if you choose to reset the device again at any point, either a hardware or a software reset is acceptable. The correct sequence is below:

power on->hardware reset ->configure the register as  as described in Table 8-> use the conversion values
