ADS131B02-Q1: Input pin logic after power up

Part Number: ADS131B02-Q1

Hello support team,

My customer ask the ADS131B02 usage. Due to their MCU issue, the default IO logic setting is low after power up. After MCU power up fully, if MCU set /CS and /SYNC/RESET high and set these pin low again when they start conversion, can ADS131B02-Q1 work properly? Or ADS131B02 requires pull up High after ADS131B02 power up? I think that DIN and SCLK is OK for low input.

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Hello Ikeda-san,

    Thank you for your post.

It is ok to hold SYNCn/RESETn low during power up. However, after power-up is completed, the SYNCn/RESETn pin must remain high in order for the ADC to convert. Holding SYNCn/RESTn low will stop ADC conversions.

CSn should remain high whenever the MCU is not talking to the ADC in order to avoid unwanted device communication.

    Regards,

    Ryan

  • Ryan-san,

Thank you for your support. Please let me confirm, even if /CS low during power up, after MCU toggle /CS high to low again, can SPI communication be reset? They would like to confirm how to use this ADC, even if all input logic low.

    Thanks,

    Koji Ikeda

  • Hello Ikeda-san,

Yes, toggling CSn high and low again will reset the SPI communication.

    Regards,

    Ryan
