ADS1293: LEAD-OFF DETECTION issue

Part Number: ADS1293

Dears,

I used ADS1293 ,I found  a issue.

When LEAD-OFF DETECTION on, it affects the detection waveform.

LEAD-OFF DETECTION OFF  waveform:

LEAD-OFF DETECTION ON  waveform:

The maximum value of lead-off detect current is selected

Can you tell me how to solve it?

  • Hi

    May I ask

    0. which channel do you use to acquire the ECG signal?

    1. Which lead off detection method did you use? e.g. 1) DC lead-off detect, 2) analog AC lead-off detect or 3) digital AC lead-off detect.?

    2. which channel do you use to sense the lead off detection?

    3. What are the amplitude and frequency of the interference you observed?

    4. Do you use RLD?

    4. If you reduce the lead-off detect current, does the result improve?

It is important to note that the lead-off detection circuit requires a low impedance return path from the right-leg electrode-to-ground, such as a voltage reference or the RLD amplifier output. Without a proper low impedance return path for the LOD currents, all enabled LOD pins will report a lead disconnected.

  • Dear,

    0--- Number 1,2,3 channel used.

    1---  DC lead-off detect.

2--- Number 1 channel  use to sense the lead off detection.

3---  After opening the lead-off detect, the waveform is smaller than the original waveform amplitude.

    4--- Yes, used RLD.

5--- Reduce the lead-off detect current, the waveform will improve. And the waveform will be closer to the waveform of the unopened lead-off detect.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Our App Engineers are busy with supporting high volume of customers, and we will try to get back to you in next 24 hours.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    How was the improved results?

Can you clarify what you mean by

"3---  After opening the lead-off detect, the waveform is smaller than the original waveform amplitude."

What do you mean by opening?  Do you mean turn it on/enable?  or disconnect?

    Could you attach some pictures?

"5--- Reduce the lead-off detect current, the waveform will improve. And the waveform will be closer to the waveform of the unopened lead-off detect."

Does the result meet what you need?

    Thanks.

  • Hi ChienChun,

    3---  Mean turn it on/enable.

5---   The result do not meet what I need.

I confused why  lead-off detect  enable, affect the detection waveform wrong, cause abnormal detection waveform.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Do you happen to have a ADS1293 evaluation kit/board(EVM)?

Have you tried the same settings and configuration on EVM and see whether such interference exist?

What are the amplitude and frequency of the interference you observed?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Since I did not hear back from you, I believe my suggestions answered your questions.

I will close this post and if you have any pending questions, feel free to post them here or open a new thread.

Thanks and have a great day!
