ADS7883: About Min value of SCLK

Hi Team,

 

We are looking for an ADC with the following specifications.

 

Min value of SCLK of ADS7883 and ADS7886 is not specified.

Can I use it with “SCLK=50Hz”?

And, could you please let us know if you have any recommended device?

    Hi Hide,

    With a really slow SCLK, what can happen is that there may be leakage on the internal sample and hold capacitor. If the leakage is present, there will likely be a measurement error. This leakage happens due to the sample and hold switch being left open/closed for longer periods of time vs when using a faster SCLK. Functionally, the part will work but you must take this into consideration. 

    Additionally, you are looking for parts that will support this but we do not have a part specifically designed to work with such slow SCLK speeds. Is there a reason for needing to run an SCLK at 50Hz? Are you trying to achieve a specific conversion time?
