ADC3441: What is the minimum sampling rate of ADC3441?

Part Number: ADC3441

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using ADC3441 for their new products.

They have the following questions at this moment. Could you please give me your reply for them?

Q1. What is the minimum sampling rate of ADC3441? Is it 15Msps?

Q2. If Q1 answer is 15Msps, what is the clock input frequency at CLKP and CLKM terminal in 1-WIRE MODE?
       Is it 15MHz?

Q3. We can see "SAMPLING FREQUENCY (MSPS)" on Table1 and Table2 and so on in ADC3441~3444 datasheet.
Is this SAMPLING FREQUENCY (MSPS) mean same as ADC sampling rate (Msps)?

Q4. If Q3 answer yes, why the minimum value of X-axis of Figure 138 (Power vs Sampling Frequency (One-Wire Mode)) on page 43 of the datasheet is 10 MSPS?
I think it should be 15 MSPS. Is my understanding correct?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

Q1: Per datasheet pg. 51, the recommended minimum sampling frequency is 15 MSPS in 1w. For 2w mode, 20 MSPS is the recommended minimum sampling frequency.

Q2: Yes, the input frequency at both terminals will be 15 MSPS.

    Q3: Yes that is correct.

Q4: The part can perform at frequencies lower than 15 MSPS, but the specifications in the datasheet are only validated and guaranteed at the minimum sampling frequency of 15 MSPS.

    Regards, Amy

  • Hi Amy,

Thank you very much for your reply.
It is very helpful for the customer and me.

Thank you again and best regards,
    Kazuya.
