XAD12DJ135 documentation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12DJ1350, ADC12DJ2700, ADC08DJ3200, ADC12DJ5200RF, ADC12DJ3200

Hello, can we assume that the part marked as XAD12DJ135 is an  ADC12DJ1350, which is mentioned only once in this forum and nowhere else?

Thus falling into the family of pin compatible devices - ADC12DJ2700 / ADC08DJ3200 / ADC12DJ3200 / ADC12DJ5200RF - and being just half the speed of the 2700 model.

Or is it something really different (due to XAD prefix and not ADC) - if yes, would it be possible to obtain some relevant documentation/datasheet for it ?

  • Hi Daniel,

Whenever our parts are nearing release-to-market, we often allow for previewing the device via samples, almost always using an early version of the silicon. Almost certainly, the SPI register map will be different than that of the final released part and it is also possible that some of the internal features of the device are missing as well. We are unable to support preview devices - meaning any high speed ADC or DAC starting with an X in the package. Most likely, the XAD12DJ135 is an early sample of the ADC12DJ1350 silicon.

  • Hi Chase,

Can we access the documentation for ADC12DJ1350? The product is nowhere to be found on TI site - I just suppose that it was part of ADC range consolidation and it was dropped at some point. The only hint is an EVM mentioned on the forum. IMHO, documentation for obsolete products will gain TI some loyal customers.

    Thanks, Catalin

  • Hi Catalin,

this was an old design from the ADC team in Dallas that no longer exists. The product was cancelled.

Please send me an email on where you can access this information, and I will have it removed.

    Moving this post offline.

    Regards,

    Rob

  • I also agree with Catalin above. The early silicon or unsupported parts shall be put in a special "AS-IS" section, and instead of erasing the past, the community can provide self-support for these. Sure it would need to differentiate those forum threads and mark them as unofficial / community only. It would be good to have this public (easy to search by Google), but I would join such service even if we have it private, between verified members. The archival docs are gold and working out the details of imperfect parts is for some of us the best way to get over these times, when we can not do much of normal work as nothing can be properly produced.
