DAC81408EVM: Channels stopped working

Part Number: DAC81408EVM

I have been using this DAC-EVM for some time, and all the ports were working fine. Recently I see that THREE out of EIGHT channels are not working.

Channels 02, 06 and 07 are giving voltages -10V, -10V and 10V respectively. My VSS and VCC voltages are -10 V and 10 V, for I am using them at ±10V range operation.

Could this be a hardware problem?
Did anyone experience multiple channel failures before?

Codes are proper, all registers are set properly. And these channels worked before. Hence I am ruling out script errors from the list of causes.

I am using code functions from Matlab via RaspberryPi for programming.

  • Hello,

Please allow me some time to take a look at the problem and figure out a possible solution.

    Thank you,

  • Hello Sreeraj,

    Thank you for your patience.

I does the device respond to SPI command? Could you try to send a different SPI command to see if device responds.

How are you using the device, do you have an overview of the device connection or some sort of schematic I could take a look at?

What are the configurations of the DAC are you using?

Do you have a different device/EVM that you could try to replace to see if it works?

    Thank you,

    Illia Volkov
