ADC selection for test & measurement

I am looking for ADC to meet the following specification( Test/Measurement application):

1.Analog Bandwidth --> 20 MHz+

2.Sampling rate--> 10Msps to 100Msps

2.ADC resolution --> 10bits+

3.Channels --> 2(BNC/SMA)

4.Input range -->up to 80V(external divider)

Please review the requirements and let us know the suitable solution from TI.

Please let me know if there are available modules to meet the req.

Venu,

I would suggest looking at the ADS42xx family of data converter (12/14 bit, 65/125 MSPS). These are LVDS output devices. The maximum input swing is 2Vpp centered around a 0.95V common mode. Most of our converters will have a common max input swing and common mode voltage.

ADS4222 - 12-bit, 65-MSPS

ADS4242 - 14-bit, 65-MSPS

ADS4225 - 12-bit, 125-MSPS

ADS4245 - 14-bit, 125-MSPS

1.Is there any reference design that closely matches with test & measurement scenario using ADC42X series?

2.With ADC42x series, ability to do AC & DC coupling?

3.BIST to identify key problems?

4.Ability to do instantaneous measurements, filtering, triggers etc & Configurable Trigger IN and OUT..?

Venu, regarding your questions:

Yes, the ADS42xx supports both AC and DC coupling.
There is no self-test feature for our ADCs. This device does have test patterns and the FPGA can check if the received data matches what is expected in a given test pattern mode.

Hi Chase,

I am also looking at variable input voltage option up to 80V. with selectable divider at front end. We can use the voltage divider circuitry as part of the FE and derive the voltages..I am curious to know if any ready solution is available from TI to have this variable option..

Hi Venu,

Just to clarify, are you asking if we have an amplifier that has an integrated voltage divider on the input that can handle up to 80V?

Hi Jacob,

I am looking at achieving as attached jpg:

I need to have high input(1Mohm) and then achieve variable 80V(probably through pi attenuator)

If the amplifier has an option to handle upto 80V variable,we'll consider.

Hi Jacob,

I would also like to share the block diagram so that, you can recommend the right parts and get an approximate BOM cost(If you have any ref design, which meets our requirement, that will help).
