DAC 4-20mA output from TI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8750, DAC161P997

Do TI have DAC input from I2C and 4-20mA output?

Best Regards,

NT

  • Hi NT,

The DAC8750 is a DAC + XTR device which will give you 4-20mA output. The only problem you may run into is that it is SPI. It is due out with a month or two. If interested, let me know and we can get you a preliminary data sheet.

  • Hi Tony,

My company is very much interested in the same. Can we a soft copy of the same?

  • Hi NT,

I am a bit late to this conversation, but I will use it as my practice run :)

You may want to check out DAC161P997 - you can do a search on it at ti.com.

It is a DAC built specifically for the isolated 4-20mA loop powered transmitters (Type-2 only).

It has a SWIF interface, even more stingy on wiring than i2c -  just one wire needed to communicate with it, which is nice if you have to jump isolation boundary with your DAC input data.

    Cheers!
