ADS1256: About correlation between input pins.

Part Number: ADS1256

Hi

As the voltage on AIN2(pin#8) increases, AIN4(pin#10) also increases.

1. AIN2(pin#8) is connected to sensor. / AIN4(pin#10) is floating.

2. AIN4(pin#10) is floating, but as the voltage of AIN2(pin#8) increases, the voltage of AIN4(pin#10) also increases.

Question: If AIN4 is floating, shouldn't it not affect AIN2?

I don't understand the voltage increasing together.

Thanks

  • Hi David Kim,

If AIN4 is floating, there is no guarantee what the voltage on this pin will be. And this voltage can change over time, or just randomly, since the pin is floating. Therefore, this behavior is normal

Also, if you have nothing connected to AIN4, why do you care what the voltage is?
