ADS8167: REFP Question

We are in the process of laying out a board with multiple ADS8167s. We noticed that the evaluation module (ADS8168EVM-PDK) has a 1 Ohm resistor between the REFP pins and the bypass capacitors. This part is not shown in examples in the datasheet or discussed in any documentation. We did place such a resistor in our design, thinking it may be there to keep the REFP amplifier stable. We would like to remove this 1 Ohm resistor to reduce the inductance to the bypass but are concerned that this could cause some problems.

Is there a reason the 1 Ohm Resistor exists on the EVM and should we duplicate it in our design?
