AFE0064: Develop FPGA based controller for capacitive touch screen panel

Part Number: AFE0064

Hello,

I want to implement a controller for touch screen panel that has 24 sensing channels RX , and 25 driving channels TX.

Reading this document  (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/279915514_Concurrent_Driving_Method_with_Fast_Scan_Rate_for_Large_Mutual_Capacitance_Touch_Screens)

I learn about the conventional controller system for TSP , I would like to implement my FPGA based controller, as i understand i need to find a Analog Front End (AFE),  AFE0064 is for medical application.

There are AFEs for touch screen panels? could you recommend?

Any suggestions and commentary is for me very helpful.

Thanks in advanced,

Julio Cesar Molina

  • Hi Julio,

The AFE0064 (and similar devices) are used as precision, low-noise charge sensing front-end. Kindly check if charge range and speed requirements are as expected.

Please note that, the device has correlated-double sampling (CDS) that rejects any signals arriving in SHR phase. It can be used to reject external offset, low frequency noise. however, it will also reject any signal arriving in SHR phase. So, your control signals need to be timed accordingly.
