We are using TI product ADS1294IPAG in our mobile ECG device. In order to certify it, it is necessary to pass the ESD test according to IEC 60601-1:2005 . On the preliminary test, all the analog ECG input pairs were damaged (lost gain) and all the functionality further on was operational; that was confirmed by applying the built in square wave test.  On the second test we applied TVS diode ESD7L5.0DT5G (Onsemi), but the result was again a failure.

Is there any TVS or similar protective device that can be applied to the analog input pairs to avoid the problem?

Once again, the spark is applied to the plastic housing, but it is also expected to be applied to the electrodes directly. No other points (including other components in the device) were damaged.
