ADS131M04: Feedback on Software/Firmware compatibility between ADS131M04IRUKR & ADS1256

Part Number: ADS131M04
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1256, , ADS1261

Hi TI team,

Right now, we are using ADS1256, SMT chip in our production. The approximate annual production requirement is around 12000 pieces. Unfortunately, ADS1256, SMT is out of stock with all standards distributers. Lead is very high and does not meet our production requirements.

So, we are planning to replace ADS1256, SMT chip with ADS131M04IRUKR in all our production boards

From dat sheets we observed that features & hardware specification compatibility in between ADS131M04IRUKR & ADS1256 . We request TI support team to give feedback about software/Firmware compatibility in between ADS131M04IRUKR & ADS1256

Thanks & Regards

Mahesh

  • Hi Mahesh Kodali,

The ADS131M04 is a simultaneous sampling ADC that only works with an integrated reference. The input range is also more limited compared to the ADS1256. From both a digital and analog perspective, the M04 is not very similar to the ADS1256

A more direct comparison to the ADS1256 would be the ADS1261. Let us sync up offline to see if this device will work for you.
