ADC3422: Can negative differential analog input be connected to GND?

Part Number: ADC3422

Hi team,

Can negative differential analog input be connected to GND? Thanks!

Br,

Nison

  • Nison,

You cannot connect the negative input to GND. The ADC output will have no meaning.

To get the performance mentioned in the datasheet, both INP and INM should see a proper common mode voltage (VCM, 0.95V typically).

It is recommended to bias INP and INM each around required common mode voltage which is VCM (typically 0.95V) +/- 0.025V.

    Regards,

    Jim
