Looking for design support for analog output generating of different channels details below,

Analog output voltage range 9V to 16V
Load current @ 15mA, 100mA, 200mA, 300mA, 500mA & 1A
No of output channels : 12 No's
Automotive application

Suggest me a solution for analog outputs.

Hi Gopal,

We do not have an automotive DAC that meets these specifications.

We do not have any automotive or catalog DACs that would support the load currents you have specified, so an external buffer would be required. The external buffer could also have a gain that achieves the 9V to 16V output range.

Hi Katlynne Jones,

Thank you. Can you suggest me any application circuit - Discrete/ Active can generate analog output voltage of range 0V to 16V DC at different loads i.e, 1A, 500mA, 350mA, 100mA. Generating analog output voltage by using precision DAC.

Hi Gopal,

Please review this application note. You could use any of the automotive DACs that I mentioned in my last response along with an automotive op amp capable of outputting >16V.

Hi Katlynne Jones,

Thank you. I reviewed this application circuit. To drive the Op-Amp (OPA227), is it required +/- Dual 5V supply or Single supply 5V?.

In my design, only 5V supply is available.

Hi Gopal,

You do not need a negative supply if your minimum output requirement is 0V, but you do need a supply greater than 5V if you require a 16V output.

Thank you. The application is working at input supply 24V DC to Op-Amp and Output Voltage 16V DC @ 1A.
