ADS7028: ADS7028

Part Number: ADS7028

Hello Sir/Madam,

We are using ADC ADS7028IRTER, which is from Texas Instrument. We are getting offset voltage on channel 2 and Channel 4.

We about to deliver the first prototype to customer.

Kindly help.

  • Pravat,

The specified offset of this device is 2LSB.  I assume that you man that you are getting offset errors larger than this.  Since you see this error on some channels but not other channels, this is likely a settling error.  A settling error is an error that is caused by not fully charging the internal sample and hold capacitor to the voltage applied to the channel.  This can occur if the source impedance is large so that it takes a long time to change the internal sample and hold capacitor.  This type of error can be eliminated by reducing the source impedance, or increasing the acquisition time.  You can increase the acquisition time by decreasing the sampling rate.  Can you decrease your sampling rate to test this?
