AFE5808A: Hardware reset

Part Number: AFE5808A

Hi Experts,

Our customer have a concern as shown below:

I don't understand how a hardware reset should work.
Typically hardware reset is asynchronous and level-sensitive. However, in the datasheet section "Recommended Power-up Sequencing and Reset Timing" there is a parameter t4 (t4 > 10 ms). What does this mean?

I hope you can help us. Thank you so much in advance.

Best regards,

Gerald

  • Hi Gerald,

The power up and reset sequence is provided to reliably power up the device with optimal inrush current.

So, from the diagram, simply stating, the RESET pulse (active high) to the device should only arrive once all the power supplies (AVDDx and DVDDs) have reached the desired level.

The minimum wait time for this is described by the the parameter T4, and that T4 should be greater than 10ms. It means that after supply is up, wait for at least 10ms before applying a RESET signal (reset pulse width should be higher than 100 ns) to the device to ensure proper operation.

I hope I am able to clarify the point. If not please let me know if something is still unclear.

    Thanks & regards,

    Abhishek
