DAC81416EVM: Can't set-up the DACx1416EVM Software

Hi Experts,

Seeking your assistance with this query about SW installation for DAC81416EVM:

Cx bought a DAC81416EVM evaluation board and its USB2ANY control box, wanted to use the software Setup_DACX1416EVM proposed by TI to manipulate it.

However, after the installation of the software Setup_DACX1416EVM, the installation of the software LABVIEW was asked. The LABVIEW software is heavy, requires a certain level of Windows and a NI Elvis License (that I can't have). This complicates things while I just wanted to drive the DAC81416EVM.

Is there any another way to have access to the software_DAC81416EVM without LabVIEW? Or is it possible to have access to a NI Elvis license temporarily?

Hi Archie,

The DAC81416 should not require any specific support library besides NI-VISA and NI LV Runtime environment, both of which should install with the installer. There is no NI Elvis requirement. Are you saying that the installer is asking for this to be installed as well?

Here is the respond from customer:

When I want to run the Setup_DACX1416EVM, this message appears in a pop-up window:

But I have already installed LABVIEW 2022 Q3, the only one which is free with this address:

Moreover, when I try to run LABVIEW, there is this window appears and an activation code is requested. But I don't have one.

Then, when I go to the NI Website, they say that we need to buy an NI license to get an activation code.

Finally, as you suggest me to do, I installed NI-VISA but nothing changed.

This software has nothing to do with the DAC81416, but this installer has the runtime engine bundled with it. We will work to update the installers for the DAC81416 to include the runtime engine.
