AFE4960EVM: Usage of 4960EVM in developer testing of custom PCB

Part Number: AFE4960EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4960

Hello,

I am hoping to get more information on usage of the AFR4960EVM board. We are attempting to use this evm to evaluate our custom design which utilizes the AFE4960 on our pcb. Our PCB will be completing EEG readings using the AFE4960, as detailed in Application Brief Wearable Electroencephalography (EEG). We are attempting to use the Bio-sensing GUI application, connected to the evm, which is connected via i2c to our pcb to evaluate the signals. My questions are centered around configuration for this test.

As we are utilizing I2C communication, if i wanted to bypass the AFE4960 on the evm board, and loop in our AFE4960 on our custom PCB, would i need to do anything other than the following:

  • move jumpers on J3 and J4 to pins 2-3,
  • confirm the jumper on J1 pin 21-22 is placed to be in I2C mode

Additionally, it seems the Bio-sensing gui is configured for SPI. Is it possible to reconfigure it for I2C?

Thank you for the support!

Ryan
