AFE5808A: Didn't worked after replacing AFE5809 with AFE5808A

Hi Team,

Can you please help us with this inquiry from our customer?

We used AFE5809 before without problem. But in December 2022, AFE5809 is not available on Digikey. We chose AFE5808A to use as substitution and with some jumpers for its setting. But unfortunately, it does not work. So we need your help to trouble shoot what is the difference between two. By the way, all AFE5808's functions for AFE5808 should be enough(not use Demodulator) for us to use. Attached the circuit diagram.

Hi Danilo,

Please see my comments regarding the usage of AFE5808A in replacement of AFE5809.

In AFE5808A vs AFE5809, there is no SPI_DIG_EN pin in AFE5808A and the demod is disabled by default however it enabled by default in AFE5809. The demod enable logic is inverted. - If the customer is using the same settings as AFE5809, then please ensure that the bit corresponding to En_DEMOD 0x16[0] is taken care of accordingly.

In AFE5808A the DVDD_LDO1, DVDD_LDO2, LDO_EN, LDO_SETV, SPI_DIG_EN, TX_SYNC_IN pins are DNC and the same pins are used in AFE5809. - already taken care of in the schematic.

I hope by changing the settings with respect to demod should resolve the issue in the customer system.
