ADS42LB69EVM: Required clock source signal

Hi Experts,

Would like to ask assistance please.

I understand the board ADS42LB69EVM requires external clock generator (any type of signal) with 1Vpp recommended.

Question:
Would it be possible to use a sinusoidal signal of 1 Vpp that will be produced by a low cost signal generation resulting to a lower Vpp and an amplifier?

Also, what is the minimum required clock signal to operate it properly?

Archie,

Per the data sheet, this would be around 0.3Vpp. Operating with a low clock amplitude will decrease the performance of the device. See figures 27 and 28 of the data sheet.

Hi Jim,

Asking an update:
I know that working on lower Vpp will reduce the performance of the ADC. I wonder if you believe that achieving the 1 Vpp using an additional amplifier, instead of a high-cost pulse generator, would be any problem.

Archie,

Depends on how much jitter the amplifier adds to the clock. At low frequencies, this is probaly not an issue. This is something you will need to test as we normally do not use this approach.
