DAC6571IDBVT required data of VIH ,VIL ,VOL and VOH and also Sink and source current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC6571

Dear Team,

We have planned to use DAC6571IDBVT part  in our design , but I couldn't find  logic level of [VOH,VOL,VIL and VIH ]

and Sink and source current of DAC .

Requesting you to provide the above data ,it would be more helpful to us.

Thanks,

Pooja Ak

  • Hi Pooja,

VIH and VIL are given in the datasheet here:

The device uses I2C communication, so the pins are open drain. The VOH is determined by the pullup used on the pins.

Figures 8 and 28 show the source sink capability of the device for VDDs of 5V and 2.7V respectively:

There is no source/sink limit, but you can see in the figure that the output regulation capability of the DAC decreases as the current at the output increases.

  • Hi Katlynne Jones ,

Could you please provide the data of sink current for I2C lane ?

Above shared sink and source current for DAC IC  ? if Iam wrong please correct me .

    Thanks,

    Pooja Ak

  • Katlynne will respond after the US holiday weekend.

  • Hi Pooja,

Yes, that was the sink/source current for the DAC outputs.

The logic input current is given as ±1µA:

  • HI Pooja,

To elaborate on my last response, the input current spec is a leakage current on the digital pins/logic inputs.

We don't have data or a spec for the sink current of the I2C pins when the device is pulling the bus down. But, this device follows version 2.1 of the I2C bus specification. That documents gives guidance in choosing the pullup values if that is what you are curious about.

Here is a screenshot about the section discussing Rp for standard mode. The minimum Rp is determined by the supply voltage and the minimum sink current of 3mA.

  • Hi Katlynne,

Hope you had good weekend ,

    Thanks for the information .

Without knowing VOL ,how can I transmit the data from the IC ,

Just an example if VOL is Higher then VIL ,how logic level will match .

our use VIL is 0.4 ,If DAC vol is less then 0.4 ,it would be good
In case If VOL is higher then VIL , I can't use it ryt ?

So If  you provide  VOL data ,it would be helpful  to us.

    Thanks,

    Pooja Ak

  • Hi Pooja,

    Thank you.

I understand. I looked into the I2C standard again and the maximum VOL requirement is 0.4V (or VDD*0.2 for VDD<2V). The DAC6571 adheres to the standard so you can use 0.4V maximum VOL.

  • hi Katlynne Jones ,

    Thanks for the support !

    Have a Good day!
